Stocks Depreciation

Problem

A global retail group faced the challenge of implementing stock depreciation to give product managers real-time visibility of stock levels. Previously, they relied on outdated information from the previous day, which hindered decision-making and stock management. Manual extraction processes and weekly or monthly analyses made it difficult to maintain optimal inventory levels and respond swiftly to market demands.

 

Solution

Closer created a Data Mart within the project using Google Cloud Platform to provide more accurate and real-time visibility of the stock levels. There was a fine-tuning on the stock depreciation calculations to ensure precision and proposed changes to the information collection flow to improve data

Results

By implementing the Data Mart, the global retail corporation gained precise daily control over data updates, ensuring accurate and up-to-date stock information across all sites and business units. This increased efficiency in data access and improved data-driven decision-making. Additionally, it optimized stock cost management and enhanced financial forecasting accuracy.

Leveraging Google Cloud, the corporation further streamlined operations. The solution provided reliable, real-time data with efficient visualization, leading to better control over data integration and processing. This resulted in improved supply chain efficiency, enabling more accurate and timely decision-making and resource allocation.
